Recently I read an article about docking. For many people it can be a very embarassing time while they are on the water and everybody is watching. To me this is the most important part of driving a boat. Its one thing to be able to just drive the boat out in open water, but its also important to be able to drive your boat in close quarters.
Here is what I learned...
Rule Number 1: Never approach the dock faster than you are willing to hit it.
Rule Number 2: There is only room for one captain on your vessel.
Rules 3-10: See rules 1 and 2; when in doubt, refer to rule 2.
