Scarab is Back!

Recently one of the previous leaders of the performance boat arena, Scarab, has announced that they are making a comeback! Their new line of boats isn't going to be what we all previously remember them as though.

Rec Boat Holdings, the parent company of Scarab has announced that their new line of boats are going to range from 16 to 24 feet and all be powered by jet engines.  According to the story on Boating Magazine's website, Scarab will be using the BRP 4-TEC 1503 engine and will range in horsepower ratings from 140 to 240.

"The boats will look more aggressive but will be very well laid out for family purposes" says Roch Lambert, president of Rec Boat Holdings.  "They will definitely have a sportier look with more horsepower available [than other jet boats on the market]."

The smaller models will come in single engine configurations, the 21 foot model will be available with single or twin configurations, and the 24 foot model will come standard with a twin set up.

Along with these new models, Rec Holdings also plans to release two jet powered versions of their Glastron GT models.  The Scarab jet boats will be a stand alone brand and the Wellcraft Scarab line of offshore center consoles will be renamed "Scarab Offshore".

Rec Holdings has officially signed MarineMax as their premiere retailer for their new line of jet boats.
