I know that I am in the process of making a guide on how to sea trial a boat, but I found this to be very interesting.
I saw this picture on The Hull Truth last week. I have never seen this happen before, then again, I have always been very confident in the bow stops that I have seen.

Who would have thought that this would be something that would fail on a trailer, as important as this is. For something that is meant to hold your boat in a set position, it sure failed catastrophically. Even though this trailer was used in a salty environment, its just a few years old. Definitely not old enough for this to happen.
After reading the rest of the replies, it seems that the consensus is to add extra tie downs from the bow hook to the trailer. I think that these two are the best ones that was made, both very simple fixes.

Essentially what is being done is prevention from the boat moving forward, makes sense to me.
