Sometimes you will just have a knot that won't come out. Usually this happens because of a novice tying the knot or just from sitting over time and being effected by the weather. One thing to remember is to never feel bad about cutting your lines, after all, they are just ropes. Besides, the new shorter lines may come in handy for other uses.
If you have ever been on a boat, you know that it is just a matter of time before you get a rope caught in your propeller, its just part of the game. Very rarely is a rope caught in a prop one that can just be untwisted. Most of the time, these ropes are trash just because not only have they wrapped around the lower unit, but they have also been spun around themselves.
