Lenco Marine Suit

Last week the federal court in Washington DC ruled in favor of Lenco Marine.  The suit was between Lenco and Bennett Marine over their automatic trim tab retractor.  Bennett Marine claimed that Lenco and Rinker Marine infringed on their patent for this part.  Apparently this law suit started eleven years ago.  

Richard DeVito Jr. is the president of Lenco Marine and released this statement after the verdict was reached.  “These baseless claims started 11 years ago, it’s a great feeling knowing that we persevered in standing for what we knew to be right. We knew we did not violate any patent and continued to appeal to the highest court and ultimately won. This is behind us, now we can continue to focus on what we do best – make the best boats better."
